Kujō Tadaie

Kujō Tadaie (九条 忠家) was Chancellor of Japan in the apex of his career.

Biography

Kujō Tadaie was born into the Kujō clan, a branch of the Fujiwara clan, as the son of Kujō Norizane. He thus may be called Fujiwara Tadaie in old texts. His son was Kujō Tadanori.

Titles

His tenure as Chancellor lasted from 1273 to 1274; in that title, he was preceded by Takatsukasa Mototada and succeeded by Takatsukasa Kanehira.[DNHS-376]

His tenure as Advisor lasted part of 1274; in that title, he was preceded by Takatsukasa Kanehira and succeeded by Ichijō Ietsune.[DNHS-377]
