Morisada (? - 1223; 守貞) was an imperial prince. He was son of Emperor Takakura and the father of Toyohito through Jimyōin Nobuko. Toyohito would eventually become Emperor of Japan.
Morisada was not made emperor in his lifetime, something that constantly upset him. One female attendant of his told him about a dream she had where he received the imperial seal. To that, Morisada said, "How can that be so?"[DNHS-96]
In 1221, his son, Toyohito, became Emperor of Japan. Morisada was promptly honored as Cloistered Emperor. Despite this, he seemed to have no sway over politics.[HCSL-GOHORI]
Morisada died in the fifth lunar month of 1223. He was given the posthumous title of Go-Takakura.[HCSL-GOHORI]
