Nakain Michishige

Nakain Michishige (1270 - 26 October 1322; 中院 通重) was Minister of the Interior of Japan in the apex of his career.

Biography

Nakain Michishige was born into the Nakain clan, a branch of the Minamoto clan, as the son of Nakain Michiyori, who was the son of Nakain Michinari. He thus may be called Minamoto Michishige in old texts.

Titles

His tenure as Minister of the Interior lasted part of 1319; in that title, he was preceded by Rokujō Arifusa and succeeded by Kazanin Moronobu.
