Takatsukasa Fuyunori

Takatsukasa Fuyunori (1295 - 27 February 1337; 鷹司 冬教) was Chancellor of Japan in the apex of his career. He was the last Chancellor before the Kenmu Restoration.

Takatsukasa Fuyunori was born into the Takatsukasa clan, a branch of the Fujiwara clan, as the son of Takatsukasa Mototada. He thus may be called Fujiwara Fuyunori in old texts.

In 1327, Takatsukasa Fuyunori became head of the Takatsukasa clan when his older brother, Takatsukasa Fuyuhira, died. In the first lunar month in 1330, he replaced Konoe Tsunetada as Chancellor of Japan. In the tenth lunar month of 1334, he no longer had the title of Chancellor, but was made Minister of the Right, and the following year, was transferred to become Minister of the Left. He associated himself with Emperor Kōgon. Takatsukasa Fuyunori died in 1337.
